Leeds Retrofit for City-owned buildings in LA

The LA City Council unanimously passed a “Green Building Retrofit Ordinance” yesterday, first of its kind in the nation, all 30 year or older city-owned buildings (at least 7500 sq. ft.) are going to be retrofitted to try and achieve LEED silver. Acoording to 68% of the residents in the City of Angels, think the city doesnt put a lot of effort to be more green, ordinances like this one should sway some that the city is trying to take a step in the right direction.

Aside from lower the buildings impact on the environment, the projects are expected to bring in more work locally, helping curb the high unemployment rate the city has.
